Natural Remedies for Adult Acne Unveiled

Acne, with its embarrassing pimply eruptions, plagues many young people during puberty. However, the problem is a little more serious when it lasts into the adult years. Below, we’ll be delving into a few natural remedies for adult acne that should eliminate it. These brews are natural remedies for severe acne as well as minor cases of acne.

It is thought that the kidneys and liver are responsible for acne in adults. This is so, because these organs are the chief filters and detoxifiers of our bodies. When they become weak, for whatever reason, one of the manifestations is acne. This is where the herbs stinging nettle and dandelion become irreplaceable natural remedies for adult acne.

Stinging nettle is also sometimes called common nettle. Everything of the nettle (stems, leaves, flowers, and roots) has medicinal properties. It was highly esteemed in ancient times, but then became forgotten, as most plants, during modern times. The Swiss herbalist Abbe Kuenzle points out in his writings that the nettle would have been wiped out long ago were it not for its stings. Insects and animals would have just eaten it away, due to its medicinal properties, because even though it isn’t a natural remedy for acne to them, it has a number of other positive aspects.

Dandelion’s common names are priest’s crown, blow-ball, and swine’s snout. Dandelion is actually a great healing aid with which nature has provided us, even though it is looked upon as a troublesome weed in lawns. You can pick it in April and May as it flowers during these months in meadows and grasslands all over the world. The only places where you won’t find these plants are the very wet places of the world. It is distinguishable by the blankets of yellow flowers that it creates where there are many blooms at once.

Both herbs should be picked fresh, and should be pesticide free. Take about 5 stems (with leaves, flowers, and roots attached to the stem) of stinging nettle, put them into a cup, and then fill the cup with boiling water. Do the same with about 10 dandelion leaves. (In this case, use only the leaves.) After about 3 minutes, strain both teas into separate cups and drink them 15 minutes apart from each other. Repeat this process twice daily with both teas.

If fresh herbs are not available to you, both of these plants can be bought at any herbal store. However, they will be dried. This is not a problem, but there will be a few differences in the preparation of the tea: take a heaped teaspoonful of each herb instead the fresh leaves or stems, and strain after 30 minutes instead of 3 minutes.

Whichever way you decide to go about it, the natural remedy for adult acne should start taking effect in a few weeks.
